Free Shakespeare in the Park, Tallahassee

Annual Shakespeare Festival

The annual Shakespeare Festival begins from 9th May to 12th May 2019 for 4 days which is one of the best Renaissance Festivals in the Southeast region.

Southern Shakespeare Company is a professional theater company with a year-round education mission requesting to make Shakespeare welcoming and fun for all ages, introducing innovative productions, visiting artists and FREE Shakespeare in the Park every spring.

Southern Shakespeare Company is delighted to present special guest artist Marc Singer, best known for Beastmaster, V, and If You Can See What I Hear, will be playing the title role of Macbeth this year. The singer is also a devoted Shakespearean, having played Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew even he won the LA Drama Critics Circle award and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Last years festival of four days success has brought this festival alive again to bring back the sights, sounds, and flavors of a Renaissance Festival to Tallahassee. Visitors will get to experience vision of jugglers, illusionists, fortune tellers, armored combat, antique food. You can even learn a new skill, like blacksmithing, weaving, or belly dancing.

Kids’ Kingdom lowers the drawbridge for the young folks and all visitors will enjoy the multiple programs and performances leading up to a main-stage.  Production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, performed in real Renaissance style, on the Capital City Amphitheater stage at Cascades Park.

Admission is free for this event but to secure your seat at the festival, consider purchasing a membership. Even it has made it as flexible as possible by offering membership levels as low as $20 with options for automatic renewal.
